Obituary of Diane (Ciman) Bean

Diane (Ciman) Bean, 70, of Swampscott passed away peacefully at the Union Hospital after a lengthy illness, with her husband of twenty nine years, Earl Bean, at her bedside. Born in Peabody, Diane was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Safchuch) Ciman. Diane attended Peabody Public Schools, receiving both a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Salem State University. Diane taught Third Grade at Peabody West Memorial Elementary School for over 30 years. In retirement, Diane was an ardent “crafter” attending as many craft shows as possible. In addition, she enjoyed the Rock Coast of Maine, spending as much time as possible in their second home in Wells, Maine. Diane was an ardent pet lover and traveled with their dogs, Jack and Gypsy, wherever possible. In addition to her husband, Diane leaves behind her son, Jeff and his wife Cassondra “Cat” Blanchard-Bean as well as four grandchildren, Illiana, Allexi, Ameillia and Joshua. Diane also leaves her brother Edward and his wife Wanda of Middleton, her uncle William Safchuch of Bethesda, MD and as well as many nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank Gloria Manzanillo, her devoted aide and friend for her care and devotion. Visiting hours for Diane will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Her Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
