Obituary of Helen J Sarowsky

Helen J. (Gonsiorowski) Sarowsky, 94, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter Sarowsky. Born in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Felicia Gonsiorowski. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1939. Helen was employed for over 25 years at the former Jordan Marsh Company in Peabody as a clerk and later in security before retiring many years ago. Helen enjoyed quilting, doing ceramics, and going to the Peabody Life Center, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family and sharing in all of their endeavors. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary “Kim” Sarowsky of Harwich, her daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Charles Coviello of Derry, NH, her beloved five grandchildren, Col Peter Sands and his wife Julie of Cape Coral, FL, Lynne Martinuk of Ft. Myers, FL, Christopher and Maria Sarowsky, both of Cape Cod, and Louis Sarowsky of NY, and by her three great grandchildren, Thomas Martinuk, Jill Fitzgerald, and Joshua Sands. She was predeceased by her siblings, William, Chester, and Stanley Gonsiorowski, Stella Mooka, and Henrietta Baranowski. Helen’s funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St. Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
