Obituary of George R. Filfalt

George R. Filfalt PEABODY – George R. Filfalt, 89, beloved husband of the late Teresa (Marten) Filfalt, died peacefully on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Life Care of North Shore Nursing Home in Lynn. Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Halmar and Emma (Pajari) Filfalt. He grew up in Gloucester where he attended schools. He lived in Peabody for over 50 years. Mr. Filfalt served a patriotic duty serving in the United States Army during World War II. George’s carpentry skills enabled him to work as a construction Foreman with Zolotas Brothers for a 30 year career. He kept busy in retirement doing odd jobs and carpentry work. He was an active member with the Peabody Council on Aging and went often to the Torigian Life Center in Peabody. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. as he was one of 14 children. Among his family is a nephew and niece that were his primary caregivers, Daniel Brolewicz & his wife Donna of Peabody, and great-niece Kerianne Anderson of Peabody. He was brother of the late Mary Brolewicz, Arthur Filfalt, Simila Filfalt, Wayne Theodore Filfalt, Carl Filfalt, Woitto Filfalt, Gertrude Weinwert, Lillian Talgierno, Esther O’Hanley, Alice Evelyn Davis, Hillia Belcher, Uno Niemi, and Ann Goolsby. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Funeral Service on Friday October 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 – 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Seaside Cemetery, Gloucester.
