Obituary of Manuel Manny P. Costa

Manuel P. Costa PEABODY & NEW MEXICO – Manuel P. “Manny” Costa, 73, beloved husband of Rosalina “Rose” (Rodas) Costa, died unexpectedly in Las Cruces, NM following a brief illness and medical procedure. Born in Seia, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio and Bella (Nogueira) Costa. He grew up in Portugal, then came to the United States, settling in Peabody where he lived for over 50 years. After retiring, he moved to Deming, NM where they lived for six years. Mr. Costa was a Color Matcher in the leather industry. He owned and operated a retail and wholesale supply leather shop for 12 years, and retired in 2009. Manny had a passion for gardening, and turned his home in New Mexico into a wonderful oasis with fig trees, lemon trees, flowers and others vegetables and fruits. His most cherished passion and dedication was his love and dedication to family and friends, and he adored his cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Rosalina “Rose” (Rodas) Costa of NM, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage; a daughter Maureen Albright of Peabody; a son Manuel Costa of Danvers; three grandchildren, Natasha Farren of Peabody, and Jared Costa and Hunter Costa both of Danvers; two brothers Agostinho Costa of Middleton and Luis Costa of NM; a sister Marta Nunes of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Antonio Costa. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
