Obituary of Michael R Mottola, Sr

Michael R Mottola, 90, of Newburyport, died peacefully on Tuesday at the Anna Jaques Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Marie (Fiatarone) Mottola. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ciriaco “Jerry” and Arcangela (Iannino) Mottola. He was raised and educated in East Boston, later lived in Malden and West Peabody and has spent the last 14 years living in Newburyport. Michael owned and operated his own business, Pulsar Engineering and Manufacturing in Topsfield for over 25 years. Prior to that, he was a plant manager at Diamond Tool & Die in East Boston and was also employed with Triangle Tool & Die Design in Lynn. Michael was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Boston sports and talking politics. His favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors. He will be dearly missed by all. Michael is survived by his two sons, Michael R. Mottola, Jr and his wife Deena of Newburyport, and Jerry and his wife Sandy of Haverhill, his two sisters, Marie Daley of Nashua, NH and Angelina Mottola of East Boston, her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Mottola, Jason Mottola and Kim-Soo Mottola. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph and Albert Mottola. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
