Obituary of Margaret P Mitchell

Margaret P (Lucca) Mitchell, 91, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Daniel B. Mitchell. Born in Hammonton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Rollie and Jenney (Caruso) Lucca. She was raised and educated in New Jersey and later moved to Peabody where she has lived for the past 60 years. Margaret was employed as a machine operator for the Hughes Liberty Mica Company in Peabody for many years before she retired. In her retirement, she enjoyed the many activities at the Senior Center in Peabody and was a member of the Golden Agers. She enjoyed playing bingo, walking and dancing. Her favorite activity though was spending time with her family and her grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors. She is survived by her two sons, Daniel Mitchell of Salem and Wayne and his wife Diane (Libby) Mitchell of Haymarket, VA, her four grandchildren, Daniel Mitchell of Topsfield and Scott, Alysia, and Courtney Mitchell all of VA, and is also survived by two great grandchildren, Chloe and Will of Topsfield. She was predeceased by her siblings, Dominic, Frank, Joe, and Peter Lucca, Rosie Valenino and Josephine Cerullo. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 100 R Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
