Obituary of Lena Crupi

Lena (Dinolfo) Crupi, 82, of Peabody and formerly of East Boston, died Friday evening at Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Crupi. She was born and raised in Sicily, Italy and was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Cristina (Campo) Dinolfo. She moved to East Boston when she was 14 and upon marrying her husband Joseph, moved to Peabody to raise her family and has lived for the past 51 years. Lena was a seamstress for over 40 years and after raising her children she went back to work thru the years at, Lord & Taylor, Filene’s, and Macy’s before retiring years ago. She also was a homemaker who also enjoyed raising and spending time with her grandchildren, and doing the cooking, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed doing ceramics and bowling as well. Lena is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Laura Crupi of Ashland, and John Crupi of Peabody, her daughter and son-in-law, Graceann and Chris Ross of Peabody, her five devoted grandchildren, Joseph, Michael and Nicholas Crupi and Vanessa and Taylor Ross. She was predeceased by her siblings Lillo and Frank Dinolfo, Benvenuta Nicosia, Pasqualina Indellicato, and Anna Campo. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:0 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
