Obituary of Margaret (Sampson) Mc Cauley
Mrs. Margaret M. (Sampson) Mc Cauley, 97, of Peabody
died early Sunday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home
after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Peter W. Mc Cauley.
She was born in Boston on August 3, 1905, the
daughter of the late H. Frederick and Mary C. (Hohmann) Sampson
and had resided in Peabody for the past seventy years.
She had been employed at the Willard- Helburn Leather
Company in Peabody for over 30 years until the factory
closing.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and embroidering.
She is survived by 3 sons, Robert J. Mc Cauley of
Salem, Richard P. Mc Cauley of Atlanta, GA. and Lawrence
P. Mc Cauley of Peabody; 2 daughters and a son-in-law,
Helen C. Mc Cauley of Peabody and Elizabeth M. and Thomas
Leavitt of Beverly, a brother and sister-in-law, John and
Ann Sampson of Greenfield, NH, 8 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. She was the
sister of the late F. Harold, D. Warren, Wilfred and
Alfred Sampson, Dorothy G. and M. Phyllis Sampson and the
mother of the late William J. McCauley.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from
the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12
Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral
Mass in St. John's Church, Peabody at 11:00 A.M. Burial
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
