Obituary of Russell B. "Russ" Isles
Russell B. Isles PEABODY – Russell Boyd “Russ” Isles peacefully passed away at home in Zephyrhills, FL on Saturday October 10, 2015 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Cormier) Isles, and they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage together. Russ served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. His dedication and sacrifice is held dear in the hearts of his loved ones. Born in Peabody on April 14, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert and Hannah (Morgan) Isles. He was the identical twin of the late Richard Isles, and sibling to Barbara Pierce and Robert Isles. He was employed with Coca Cola for 41 years, retiring in 1997. It was a well-known fact the the term “Pepsi” was not mentioned or allowed in the Isles household! Russ is survived by his loving wife Lorraine Isles of Florida; three sons and a daughter, Russell Isles of FL, Rick Isles & his wife Charity Isles of AZ, Michelle (Isles) Conrad & her husband Brad Conrad, and George Murdock Isles of FL; his nine grandchildren, Taylor (Paulino) Hogan & her husband John Hogan and their children Ryan Michelle and Ella Rose, Matthew Paulino and his son Spencer Paulino, Monique Conrad, Shannon Isles and her daughter Callie, Kailey Isles, Lindsay Isles, Robert Isles, Nicholas Isles, Georgie Murdock-Isles and Sicaosi Murdock-Isles and and David Isles; many nieces and nephews, including Brenda (Gregory) Daley with her late husband Richard and their children Deidre Daley, Tara Daley and Erin Daley who always held a special place in his heart. Russ was a talented cribbage player and often made the most awkward moment the funniest. He was witty, and was dedicated as a family man who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He loved people whether he and Lorraine hosted their neighborhood cook-outs and Christmas parties to Friday night card night. Russ and Lorraine were the outgoing socialites of West Peabody opening their doors and hearts to everyone. Russ enjoyed his annual trips to Nova Scotia, the Fryberg Fair, race track and anywhere there was a cribbage board. He was passionate about his family and Coca-Cola. He will always be remembered as the father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who encouraged those around him to pursue their happiness. His quirky jokes retold from one generation to the next continue to be recited. He will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gathe, as the family welcomes all to attend and celebrate Russ’ life, on Monday November 2, 2015 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Urn burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
