Obituary of Sharon M. (Nelson) Robichau Collins
Sharon M. (Nelson) Robichau - Collins, 55 of Peabody, died Wednesday at her home after a long illness. She was born in Salem, Ma on April 9, 1949, the daughter of Beatrice M. (Dorval) Nelson of Lynn and the late Clarence S. Nelson and was a graduate of Salem High School in 1967 and the North Shore Community College.
She was first employed as an emergency and quality control operator for the Osram GTE Sylvania Co. at the Sylvan St. Danvers plant for 21 years until its closing. Later she worked as a nutritional assistant at Beverly Hospital until she had to retire in 1995 due to illness.
She had been a head of the Sylvania Employees Association and was involved with many activities. She also was a Melaleuca Representative on the North Shore.
She was active in the Relay for Life and the Breast Cancer Walk in recent years and was an avid sewer, enjoyed creative writing and in earlier years was involved in the Girl Scouts.
She was the former wife of Marc E. Robichau and later Renzo F. Collins.
Surviving her besides her mother of Lynn are a daughter, Christina M. Robichau Eldridge of Peabody, a son, Joseph I, Robichau with the US Air Force stationed in Texas, 4 brothers, Ralph and Gerald Nelson both of Beverly and Richard and Paul Nelson both of Lynn, a sister, Linda R. Ackerman of Salem, 2 aunts, Myrtle Jackson of Salem and Shirley Panopoulos of Lynn, 3 grandchildren, twins Jacqueline and Angelique Eldridge and Cheyenne E. Manson all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Johnson and Claire Brown.
A Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-4 & 6- 8 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of No Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. 01923.
