Obituary of Paul A Thomas

Paul A Thomas, 80 of Peabody, passed away on Friday October 30 at Beverly Hospital after an illness of 7 months. Paul was the husband of Patricia (Cranney) Thomas with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Paul was born in Danvers on November 3, 1934 to Arthur C and Mary C (Hartman) Thomas. He was raised in Danvers, attended the former Holten High School where he excelled in sports and graduated with the Class of 1953. He continued his education for two more years at Northeastern University. Paul was employed at Salem Laundry Company for 17 years and as a machinist at Hendrick Manufacturing for 20 years. Paul coached Peabody Little League for 10 years and was involved in his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Paula and her husband James Paige of Peabody, Kimberly and her husband Stephen Russo of Danvers, and John Thomas and his family of Danvers, his grandchildren, Meghan Chouinard and her husband Tristan Brown of Peabody, Stephen J. Russo, Jr and Michael A. Russo of Danvers, James and Lacey Paige of Groveland, Brian Paige of Peabody and his girlfriend Brenda Clancy and her son, Shawn, his great grandchildren, Lily and Christian Behen, Hunter Brown, Luke, Jack, and Annabelle Paige. He was the brother of the late Dale R. Thomas. A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the home of Kimberly and Stephen Russo on Saturday November 7th from 12:00 until 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the Danvers National Little League, P.O. Box 262, Danvers, MA 01923, ATTN: Donations.
