Obituary of Anibal P. Constantino

Anibal P. Constantino, 69, of Peabody, died early Wednesday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Maria L. (Mendonca) Constantino. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Olivia (Machado) Constantino. He was raised in Portugal and later immigrated to the United States and has been a resident of Peabody for the past 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the leather industry as a stripper for Sirois Leather in Peabody for over 20 years. He also enjoyed gardening, raising rabbits and pigeons, and was a member of the CLC Club in Peabody. Besides his loving wife he is survived by 2 sons, Joseph Constantino of Harkerheights, Texas, and Louis Constantino of Peabody; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Rui Bettencourt of Peabody and Elaine and Jason Holder of Litchfield, New Hampshire; 2 brothers, Arlindo Constantino Sr., of Peabody and Reinaldo Constantino of Rochester, NH; a sister, Magarida Desilva of Portugal; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
