Obituary of Angelo Gargas

PEABODY -- Mr. Angelo “Angie” Gargas 86, of Peabody, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Angelo was born in Peabody and was a proud lifelong resident of the city. Angelo worked at GTE Sylvania in Danvers for over 43 year and was a member of their Quarter of a Century Club. Angelo, along with his brothers, were the long time owners of McManus Liquors located in Peabody Square. Angelo was very proud of his Greek heritage and was a member of the St. Vasilios Men’s Club. Angelo is survived by his loving wife of over 41years, Patricia (Capen) Gargas of Peabody; his daughters Christine and her husband Joseph Gillooly,Jr. of Manchester, NH, Ellen DeVeau of Bellows Falls, VT, Antoinette “Toni” Nork of Bend, OR, Tricia LeBlanc and her partner Michael H. Conway of Highlands Ranch, CO; his sons, John Gargas of Danvers, and David Cloutier of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Joseph Gillooly, III, Anthony and Louis Vitale, Rachel Walker, Vanessa, Mellissa, and Timothy Brown, Stephanie LeBlanc, and Aubry Cloutier, as well as many great grandchildren. Angelo is also survived by his brothers Charles of Peabody, Michael and his wife Cynthia of Danvers, Stephen and his wife Anita of Acton, his sister Aspicia Cassidy of Peabody, his sister-in-law, Maureen Gargas of Peabody, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Catherine (Georges) and Peter Gargas, his brothers, Anthony, John, and James Gargas, his sisters, Marion Theodosion, and Stavicha “Stubby” Scangas, and sister-in-law Elita Gargas. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his Funeral Service on Saturday, November 7th at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, 7 Paleologos St. Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
