Obituary of Ronald A. "Pumpsie" Green

Ronald A. Pumpsie Green 58 years of Peabody died unexpectedly on Sunday at his home. Mr. Green was born on September 24, 1947 in Danvers son of the late Clifford and Irene (Osgood) Green. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School class of 1966. He then pursued his education at Newman Prep in Boston for a year. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Medical Corps with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody. Mr. Green was employed for 18 years as a mail carrier in Lynnfield. He was then employed for several years as a driver for handicap people at the Atlantic Express Company in Woburn until his retirement due to his failing health. He was a well know Umpire at many Women’ s and Men’ s Softball Leagues in Massachusetts. He was also a D.J and operated his own business know as the Pumpsie Green Music Machine. He was an avid sports fan. He is survived by 2 aunts, Anna B. Sis Wennerberg and Phyllis Deed Gonet both of Danvers; 3 cousins and their wives, Bruce and Susan Wennerberg of Danvers, Jeffrey Gonet of Boston and Phillip and Cathy Gonet of Springfield IL. 3 cousins Lennart Wennerberg, Robert Hubbard and Larry Hubbard pre deceased him. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 5 to 8 p.m.. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
