Obituary of Joyce E. (Lee) Leeman

Joyce E. (Lee) Leeman, 75, beloved wife of the late Frederick Leeman, died peacefully on Saturday November 21, 2015 at the Hunt Retirement & Skilled Nursing Center in Danvers, following an extended illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elinor (Wentzel) Lee. She grew up in Lynn and lived in Lynn and Saugus for most of her life. She lived in Danvers in Peabody for the last 30 years. Mrs. Leeman worked as Saugus’ only female Cabbie with Saugus Taxi, as a District Manager for Zayre’s and Ames Department Stores before working in the company’s headquarters in Framingham, and then with Walgreen’s. She also was a special clerk with Internal Investigations at the Saugus Police Department. As a creative person, Joyce enjoyed photography. Shealso loved music, social gatherings with people, and traveling which most often includes a destination near the ocean, from Maine to Alaska. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra & Steven Haden of Coventry, RI; a brother Richard & Sally Lee of Lynn; a step-sister Janice & Philip Biller of Moultonboro, NH; her niece and nephews, Douglas, Christopher and Andrew Lee, Mark, Keri, and Kurt Biller; several dear & close friends, Barbara Barke, Flora Vendetti, Paula Pacardi, Linda & Bob Rummel, Delores Lampron, Lil Mason, and Nancy Chipman and their families. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a step-brother Wayne Lee. Following cremation, a private family gathering is planned.
