Obituary of John J. "Jack" Reynolds
John J. “Jack” Reynolds, 76, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, a retired teacher and principal in the Lynn School System for 40 years, died peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Kaplan family Hospice House, Danvers with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of 25 years to Susanne (Moore) (Pedro) Reynolds.
Jack was born and raised in Lynn, Ma on April 14, 1939, the son of the late Thomas P. and Helen M. (Mulchay) Reynolds and graduated from Boston College High School. He later graduated from Salem State College and began teaching in the Lynn elementary Schools. He became a principal for the Lynn School System for many years prior to his retirement in 1999.
Jack led two different lives in his lifetime, first as a bachelor helping his family and nieces and nephews grow into adults. He later met the love of his life, Susanne, and helped raise and educate his step children and received great pleasure watching them with all their activities. He loved to play poker with his relatives and friends and also enjoyed gardening growing his roses and other flowers around the house.
He enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods, playing golf and his greatest pleasure was being with his family. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid # 70 Council of Lynn, and the Lynn and Massachusetts Teachers Union.
He is survived by his wife Susanne of Peabody, his step-children and their spouses, James A. and Marie Pedro of Methuen, Tanya E. and Mark Falco of Middleton and Michael J. and Danielle Pedro of Windham, NH, his cherished grandchildren, Daria and Frank Falco, Casey Pedro, A.J. and Ricky Pedro, K.K. Falco, Taila and Ava Pedro, his sister-in-law, Marjorie Reynolds of Salem, his brother-in-law, Robert Powers of Lynnfield, and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was the brother and brother-in-law of the late Pat and Donald Horgan, Richard Reynolds and Helen Powers.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday Dec. 2, from 10 until 11:30 A.M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., West Peabody at 12 Noon.
