Obituary of Nancy C. (McMahon) Fecteau

Nancy C. (McMahon) Fecteau 84, of Peabody, loving wife of Roger A. Fecteau, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015 with her family at her side at Hathorne Hill Genesis Healthcare in Danvers. Nancy was born in Peabody on August 1, 1931 the daughter of Edward and Mary (Gallagher) McMahon. She was raised in Peabody, graduated from St. John’s Girls High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. Following her graduation Nancy worked at Eaton Drugs in Salem and later as a telephone operator at New England Telephone leaving her employment in 1952 to raise her family. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family, and was also so proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Nancy was an avid reader of mystery novels, listening to CD books, traveling and spending time with her lifelong girlfriends. In addition to her husband Roger with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, she is survived by her children, Thomas E. Fecteau and his wife Sandra of Peabody, and Patricia M. MacLauchlan of Chittenden, VT; her cherished grandchildren, Heather Fidalgo and her husband Tony, Shaina MacLauchlan and Kristen MacLauchlan and great grandchildren, Thomas and Emma Fidalgo; a brother, Edward J. McMahon; several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Scott MacLauchlan. Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, December 17th at 9 a.m. followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn Street, Peabody.
