Obituary of Nikoleta (Psehoyas) Mandragouras

Nikoleta (Psehoyas) Mandragouras 91 years of Peabody, wife of the late Theodore N. Mandragouras, died Friday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Mandragouras was born on August 30, 1914 in Lynn daughter of the late Peter and Caleroy (Kosivas) Psehoyas. She was raised in Lynn graduated from Lynn Classical in 1931 and then pursued her education for 2 years at a local secretarial school. She moved to Peabody 60 years ago. Mrs. Mandragouras was employed for a few years as a technician at General Electric in Lynn. Following her marriage she became a homemaker and raised her family. She was a member of St. Vasilios Philoptohos Athena. She devoted her entire life to her family and especially to her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking Greek cuisine, making crossword puzzles and attending Beano with her friends. Mrs. Mandragouras is survived by a son and his wife, Nicholas T. and Ana Mandragouras of Topsfield; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Gail and Dimitri Dimopoulos of Peabody and Claire Ferrante of Pepperell; her siblings, George Psehoyas, Charles Psehoyas, Anne Smith all of Lynn, Theoni Dezerene of Saugus and Athena Northey of Dover NH; 7 grandchildren, Athan Mandragouras of WY, Athena and Sophia Mandragouras of CA, Thomas Dimopoulos of Peabody, Elaine Dimopoulos of PA, Marlene Ferrante of Malden and Christopher Ferrante of Lowell; many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her siblings Chrisoula Karapas and Jeannie Psehoyas. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. location Peabody followed by a service at 10 a.m. in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
