Obituary of Joseph S. Lazzaro

Joseph S. Lazzaro, 74, of Peabody died early Thursday morning at his residence with his family at his side after a six month battle with ALS. He was the devoted husband of 51 years to Margaret (Keith) Lazzaro. He was born in Chelsea MA the son of the late Salvatore and Angela (Capodillupo) Lazzaro and had resided in Peabody for the past 47 years. He had served in the United States Air Force form 1959 until is discharge in 1963. Joe had been a faithful member of the Second Congregational Church helping out in many capacities and will be sorely missed. The Lazzaro family would like to thank the nursing staff at VNA Middlesex East for their loving care of Joe and the comfort they gave to his family. Surviving him besides his wife are three children, Anthony Lazzaro and his wife Dannielle of Haverhill, Christopher J. Lazzaro of Waltham and Angela M. Shamhart and her husband Al of Saugus, his cherished grandchildren, Meagan Burchstead of St. George, Utah and Amber Shamhart of Saugus. A Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan 4, 2016 from 4:00 untl 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Second Congregation Church, Maple St. extension, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery Peabody.
