Obituary of Jane Apostolides

Jane Apostolides, 91, of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Farnis Apostolides. Born in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Agisilaos and Alexandria (Katsas) Demetrakopoulos. She was raised and educated in Ipswich and was a graduate of Ipswich High School, class of 1943. Upon marrying her husband Farnis, Jane moved to Peabody where she has lived for the past 67 years. Jane was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Philoptohos Society, and she loved her gardening. Jane is survived by her three daughters, Lorraine and her husband William Nolan, Sandra Ruggeri, and Amy Apostolides, all of Peabody, her beloved grandchildren, Jason and Yvonne Nolan, Matthew Nolan, Christopher and his wife Amanda Nolan, and Alex and Christina Ruggeri, her four great grandchildren, William, Matthew, Michael and Andrew Nolan, her two god children, Joyce Kokinos and Michael Bentas and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, George Demetrakopoulos and Georgia White. Jane’s family is grateful for the dedicated staff of the third floor at the Rosewood Nursing Home for their compassion and professional support for taking care of their “Little One.” Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
