Obituary of Gertrude M. Marconi

Gertrude M. Marconi, 88, of Swampscott and formerly of Peabody, died Friday evening at the Jewish Rehab Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Armand Marconi. She was born in Boston and was raised by the Birmingham Family in Winthrop. She attended Winthrop Public Schools and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She later lived in Peabody for over 50 years and has spent the last couple of years living in Swampscott. She devoted her time to her family and while living in Peabody, volunteered for the Girl Scouts, was a ladies aide at the West Congregational Church, and enjoyed cooking. She also worked for a short period of time for Johnson Flowers in Woburn as an assembler. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Doreen Marconi of Nashua, NH, a daughter, Jean Marconi of Lynn, and a grand daughter, Andrea Marie Marconi of Nashua, NH. She was the sister of the late Arthur and Danny Birmingham. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
