Obituary of Michael A. Sperounes

Michael A. Sperounes LYNN / SWAMPSCOTT – Michael A. Sperounes, 76, died peacefully on Tuesday January 12, 2016 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital, following an extended illness. Born in Mani, Greece, he was the son of the late Apostolos and Maria (Exarhakos) Sperounes. He came to the United States at the age of 17, and graduated high school in Lynn. He lived in the Lynn and Swampscott area for nearly 60 years. Mr. Sperounes worked as a Machinist in his early years. He changed careers as a Real Estate Investor, as he owned and did property management on his buildings in the Lynn area. Michael enjoyed travel, and was an avid reader on a variety of subjects. He had a great interest in history. He was loved and respected for the man he was and his intelligence earned him the respect of many. Known for his generosity, he would do anything to help his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by a son and daughter, Paul & his wife Tess Sperounes of Swampscott and Maria Sperounes of Swampscott; two grandchildren, Michael Sperounes and Kristina Sperounes both of Swampscott; two sisters Stella Photiou and Kay Sperounes both of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
