Obituary of Delia M Hurley

Delia M (Burke) Hurley, 87, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Eugene J. Hurley with whom she shared over 67 years of marriage. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Delia (Collins) Burke. At a young age Delia lost her parents and was raised by her sisters in Cambridge, MA. She later moved to Peabody where she has lived for over 60 years. Delia dedicated her life to her family and raising her 10 children and later her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Jeanne Zack and her husband William of Fairfax, VA and Naples, FL, Kathleen Hurley of St. John US Virgin Island, Erin Marshall and her husband Ret Lt Col USAF Thomas Marshall of Triangle, VA, James Hurley of Peabody, Brian and his wife Carla Hurley of South Easton, Michael Hurley of Washington DC, Patrick Hurley of Peabody, Sean and his wife Joan Hurley of Monroe, CT, and Ryan Hurley of Boston. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Lauren, and John Hurley and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Eugene J Hurley and her siblings, Catherine Miloszewski, Mary Ellen, Timothy, Jeremiah, Michael, and John Burke. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by her Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be held at a later date.
