Obituary of Simon S. Vinci
Simon S. Vinci, 54 PEABODY – Simon S. Vinci, 54, beloved husband of Alison (Kneeland) Vinci of Peabody, died following a heart attack on Friday January 15, 2016 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital. Born in Canada, he was the son of Frank Vinci of California and Joan (Hinton) Vinci of Peabody. He grew up in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1980. Simon was a skilled craftsman, and went into business with his brother Marco in Vinci Brothers Masonry, operating in the North Shore area. Simon was passionate about his family, and devoted to helping anyone in whatever way he could. He actively supported his children in their activities. He coached and cheered for his children in their sporting events and theater performances. H was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed the Burins and whatever team his son played for. He will be fondly remembered as a cherished husband, devoted father, fun uncle and so loved by his extended family. A kind, vivacious soul with a generous, caring heart—he will be forever missed. He is survived by his wife Alison (Kneeland) Vinci of Peabody, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage; a daughter Danielle Rose Hudon & her husband Eric of Peabody, and a son Simon Vinci of Peabody; his father Frank Vinci of CA and mother Joan Vinci of Peabody; two brothers Marco Vinci & his partner Lainey Lebel of Peabody and Christopher Vinci of Texas; a sister Marisa Freese & her husband Jim of CA. He is survived by his father-in-law Daniel Kneeland and his wife Rhoda of Peabody, his sisters-in-law and their husbands, Laura & Dave Wall of Peabody, Deirdre & John Hurley of Danvers and Susan & Carmine Manganiello of Peabody; his lifelong friends Dave & Joan Maida of Byfield; his many nieces and nephews, including Jennifer, Rachel & Robert Montgomery of CA, Marco, Raymond and Cameron Vinci of Peabody, Ashleigh, Timothy & Christina Wall, Dianna (Wall) & Randy Brunet and great nephew Lucas of Peabody, Thomas, Daniel & David Hurley of Danvers, Nicholas, AnnMarie & GinaBeth Manganeillo of Peabody and Dylan, Bella and Derek Maida of Byfield. He was predeceased by his treasured mother-in-law Elizabeth Kneeland who adored him. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his Funeral Service on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
