Obituary of Vincent F. Liberti

Vincent F. Liberti, 78, of Peabody, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, early Tuesday morning at Salem Hospital. He was the loving husband of Connie Dena (Spaneas) Liberti with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Beverly on April 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Pietro and Maria (Sciamanna) Liberti. He was raised and educated in Beverly, and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1945. After high school he entered the United Stated Navy where he served during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked in Danvers, first at Vulcan Electric and later for ITW Devcon for over 18 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Liberti was a member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. He enjoyed dancing, doing puzzles, listening to music, spending time with his grandchildren and neighborhood friends. He also enjoyed taking day trips with the senior center and being with his loyal friends. He was the devoted father of Peter and his wife Marilou Liberti of Newmarket, NH, Marlene and her husband Michael Pittsley of Peabody, a brother, Sylvia Liberti of Beverly, a sister, Rose and her husband Joseph Pietrini of Beverly, a sister-in-law, Madelyn Liberti of Hamilton, he was the adoring grandffather of Ross and Katherine Pittsley and Peter and Isabelle Liberti, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends. He was the brother of the late Joseph, William, and Peter Liberti, Anna White and Lucy Ambrozavitch. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by Services at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
