Obituary of Dr. John Leo Favaloro

Dr. John Leo Favaloro, Jr, 66, of Peabody, died on Sunday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his loving wife by his side as well as family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Catherine (Comora) Favaloro with whom he shared over 20 years of love, partnership and marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John Leo Favaloro, Sr and Elsie (Odierno) Favaloro. He was raised in Lynn, later lived in San Diego, CA, and has spent the last 30 years living in Peabody. John was a Periodontist for over 40 years who worked throughout the North Shore, Cape Cod, and California. He served on many boards throughout his extinguish career, from the Dental Board of Registration in Massachusetts to the California Board of Dental Examiners and was a licensed as a DDS in Massachusetts, Florida and California. John had a passion for antique cars and was a member of the North Shore and National Porsche Association. He also was a member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club and the Elm St., Club in Danvers. Besides his loving wife, his is survived by his sister Nancy and her husband John Catania of Peabody, his nieces and nephews, John, Kevin, Mark, and Mark Catania, Laurie Troy, Lisa Armstrong, Floyd and Bailey Lawler, and his grand nieces and nephews, Kylie, Cassidy and Brenna Troy, Noah, Hannah, and Olivia Armstrong, and John and Anthony Catania. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Caren Welence, Stephen “Chuck” Comora and Irene “Patty” Lawler. John’s funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody.
