Obituary of Mary G. (Taylor) Maria

Mary G. (Taylor) Maria, 88 PEABODY – Mary G. (Taylor) Maria, 88, beloved wife of the late George Maria, died peacefully on Sunday January 24, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Tiverton, Devonshire, England, she was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Tucker) Taylor. She grew up there, and during World War II she met the love of her life, George, and soon started their happy life together as they married in her native England. She settled with her husband in the North Shore area, mostly in Peabody for 68 years. Mrs. Maria worked in the cafeteria with Peabody public schools, yet was mostly at home nurturing her family. Mary enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, and was active at the Torigian Community Life Center. She was most passionate about family, and will be dearly remembered for her loving ways. She is survived by a daughter Ann Kucker of East Kingston, NH; two sons, George Maria, Jr. & his wife Geri Maria of Salem, NH and Anthony Maria & his wife Denise Maria of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Jodi, Jennifer, Adam, Jillian, Angela, Gia and Scott; 16 great-grandchildren, Cody, Devan, Michael, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Sophie, Alexandria, Haley, Olivia, Ian, Demi, Rachel, Jayna, Giavanna, Anthony, and Dominick; a brother Gordon Taylor of England; three sisters-in-law Alice Rand, Beatrice Eon, and Rose Maria, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a son James Maria, son-in-law Stephen Kucker, and sister-in-law Muriel Taylor. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday January 29, 2016 for a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
