Obituary of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Morrison) LeBlanc

Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Morrison) LeBlanc, 93, of Newburyport, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Brigham Health and Rehabilitation Center in Newburyport. Mrs. LeBlanc was born in Peabody, on January 8, 1923, daughter of John and Ellen (McMahon) Morrison. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1941. Betty was employed for many years at the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company as an operator, and she left her employment in 1952 to raise her family. During her employment at “Ma Bell” she was known “Sunshine” to her co-workers and enjoyed friends and family fun. She was a very kind and considerate person who never spoke negatively about anybody. She spoke the truth even when it wasn’t popular to do so. Betty loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed singing, and Betty could be frequently heard singing “Life is a just bowl of cherries”, while she did her housework. Her kind spirit will be greatly missed. That spirit will live in the hearts of all who knew her. Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, William LeBlanc of Newburyport and his companion Martha Chamberlain, John LeBlanc of Lynn and his significant other Terri Carppi, Ellen and Jim McInnis of Peabody, as well as Mary and Tony Chodor of Raymond, NH; 7 grandchildren, John LeBlanc, James McInnis, Jeffrey McInnis, Anthony Chodor, Aimee O’Brien, Michael Chodor and Robert Chodor; her 8 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shannon, Molly, Ryan, Meghan, James and Nicholas McInnis, as well as Elliott Patrick O’Brien; her siblings, Ellen Morrison, John Morrison , Margaret Abbott, Alice Morrison, Loretta Coombs and Ethelwyn Morrison, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Claire, Frank, Robert and Eamon Morrison, Mary Allain, as well as her former husband William T. LeBlanc. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
