Obituary of Ursula M Tester

Ursula M (Sullivan) Tester, 93, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died on Tuesday evening at Care One @ Peabody formerly Peabody Glen Nursing Home, following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Waugh) Sullivan. She raised and educated in Peabody and then later lived in Lynn for over 50 years before moving back to Peabody five years ago. Ursula was employed as a tester at Sylvania in Salem and later she worked at Jacobs Shoe Shop in Lynn. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and cooking, and enjoyed taking long walks. She is survived by her four sons, Thomas R “Bob” Tester of Punta Gorda, Fla, Richard T “Tom” Tester of Laconia, NH, William “Bill” Tester of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Stanley Tester of Huachuca City, AZ, her two daughters, Liz “Betsy” Carpenter of Peabody, and Mary Wade of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and is also survived by 18 grandchildren and by over 30 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Sullivan, Aileen Sullivan, and Phyllis Collins. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
