Obituary of Vito Bruno
Vito Bruno, 83, of Peabody, died Friday morning at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Annunziata (Bamboccia) Bruno with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage. Born in Noci, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Pugliese) Bruno. He was raised and educated in Italy and then immigrated to the United States in 1957. He later became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States and had lived in South Carolina, Philadelphia, and for the past 43 years, he lived in Peabody. Vito was a tailor by trade and later was employed at the Breckenridge Company in South Boston as a quality control manager at which he was employed for over 30 years before retiring. After his retirement, he continued working independently as a tailor for many more years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his sons, John Bruno and his wife Renee of Amesbury and Joe Bruno of Peabody, his five siblings, Nicola, Guiseppe, Giorgio, and Pasquale Bruno and Anna Castellana, all of Italy, and by his four beloved grandchildren, John, Michael, Christopher, and April Bruno. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody.
