Obituary of Mary (Kalouthe) Galli
Mary (Kathoule) Galli PEABODY – Mary ( Kalouthe) Galli, 86, beloved wife of the late Paraskevas Galiatsatos, died peacefully on Friday evening February 12, 2016 at the Hunt Retirement & Skilled Nursing Center in Danvers. Born on the Greek Island Evia in Greece, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Tina (Tharouniatis) Kalouthe. She grew up on the island, and then emigrated to the United States, settling in the Baltimore, MD area for several years. She returned to Greece for a few years, and then returned back to the United States in 1996, locating to the Greater Peabody and North Shore area where she lived the last nearly 20 years. Mary became a U.S. Citizen in 1970 while living in Baltimore. She worked for a men’s clothing manufacturer. She was a member at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody for nearly 20 years. She is survived by one niece in Baltimore, and several friends who provided care for her. She was the youngest of nine siblings, and was the last living in the family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday February 22, 2016 for a visitation from 9 – 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
