Obituary of Charles A. Mogavero

Charles A. Mogavero, Jr., 71 SWAMPSCOTT/ NAHANT – Charles A. Mogavero, Jr., 71, died unexpectedly on Monday January 25, 2016 at the Beverly Hospital. Born in Peabody on June 17, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles A. & Catherine (Dorgan) Mogavero, Sr. He grew up in Swampscott, and graduated from St. John’s Prep, Class of 1963. While a resident student at the Prep he played football and was outstanding on the track team. Charlie moved to California where he was employed as a model and did some T.V. work. He also he sold Title Insurance and was a Sales Rep for Eagle Shirts. He lived in the greater Los Angeles area for many years before returning to the North Shore, and lived in Swampscott and Nahant for over 15 years. Charlie loved sports, especially the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. He loved to follow the games played by his nieces and nephews over the years. He was fortunate to keep in touch with many of his old friends who he had known since his childhood. He also had many faithful cousins who would often visit him at Ledgewood Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Beverly. He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Anthony Turco of Danvers and Catherine and Leon McDowell of Vero Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday February 26, 2016 for a visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Urn burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Prep Wellness Center Fund, 72 Spring St., Danvers, MA 01923.
