Obituary of Helen V. (Zielski) Quinn
Helen V. (Zielski) Quinn, 93, of Peabody, died Wednesday afternoon at Renaissance Gardens in Brooksby Village, Peabody, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Michael R. Quinn.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Zajchowska) Zielski. She lived in Salem in her youth and then moved to a working farm in Peabody in May of 1921.
Upon marrying her husband, Michael, she moved to Ellsworth Road and later Tremont Place in Peabody. One of her proudest accomplishments was helping build her home with her husband in 1952
She worked for over 25 years for the city of Peabody’ s Public School Cafeterias including the Kiley School and the Kennedy and Higgins Junior High Schools, retiring many years ago.
After her retirement, she was involved with making Hug-a-Bears at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed taking extended bus trips with her husband and always stressed the importance of education. She was a member of St. Ann’ s Church and St. John’ s Sodality, both in Peabody and also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas, Court Salem 434.
She was the loving mother of Anne Quinn of Boston, Michael and his wife Ann Quinn of Dublin, Ohio, and Virginia and her husband Richard Rundell of Belmont, a brother, Walter Zielski and a sister, Irene Zielski, both of Peabody, five grandchildren, Sean, Patrick, and Timothy Quinn, Elisabeth and Ford Rundell, and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Katelyn Quinn as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the brother of the late John Zielski and Stella Goreham.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem
