Obituary of Charles C. "Monte" Olivolo

Charles C “Monte” Olivolo, 85, of Peabody, died Sunday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody with his family by his side following a lengthy illness. He was the devoted husband of Marie G (Marotta) Olivolo with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Carmella (DiChiara) Olivolo. He was raised and educated in East Boston and has spent the last 50 years living in Peabody. Monte owned and operated Tracy Auto Parts, Inc in Revere for over 25 years before retiring in 1997. Monte was also active in the community he lived from coaching youth sports to a CCD teacher at St. Adelaide’s Church. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzle and word games. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Rick Risti of Peabody, his son and daughter-in-law, Scott A and Leah Olivolo of Middleburg, Fl, his two sisters, Jeanne Velardo of East Boston and Rose Abisso of Andover, and is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren, Vanessa Risti, Erica Risti, and Anthony Olivolo and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Charles T Olivolo and by his siblings, Christopher and Thomas Olivolo, Virginia LaGrassa, Ann Lombardo, Lena Gozdon, and Patricia Brandon. Visiting hours for Monte will be held on Friday from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38106.
