Obituary of Karleen M. (Mahoney) Duggan

Karleen M. (Mahoney) Duggan, 66, of Danvers, wife of the late James C. Duggan, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 with family and friends by her side. Karleen was born in Salem, on August 29, 1949, the daughter of Elizabeth J. (Bisson) Mahoney and the late Leonard J. Mahoney. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1967. She then pursued her education at the North Shore Community College. Karleen resided in Salem from 2004 prior to moving to Danvers in 2012. Karleen was employed for 10 years by the City of Peabody School System as a teacher’s aide. Following her husband’s premature death at age 32, Karleen devoted her life to raising her 2 sons and supporting them in their endeavors. She enjoyed camping with her family, spending time with friends, listening to the Sixties Oldies, reading and watching her regular soaps. Karleen also enjoyed time on their boat with her late husband. In addition to her mother “Bette” of Haverhill, Karleen is survived by her 2 sons, Daniel J. Duggan and his wife Jolene of Saugus, and Kevin J. Duggan with whom she resided in Danvers; her siblings and their spouses, Leonard J. Mahoney Jr. and Nancy Mahoney of AZ, Jane E. and John “Jay” Ronan, and David M. Mahoney all of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and father Karleen was also predeceased by her brother Peter J. Mahoney. Karleen’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. At 1 p.m. Father Thomas Powers will preside at her service.
