Obituary of Michael A. Zuppio

Michael A. Zuppio, 55, a retired Peabody firefighter of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Umass Medical Center in Worcester, following a brief illness. He was the former husband of Wendy (Lockwood) Zuppio of Marblehead and a longtime companion of Jean Viera of Worcester. Born in Salem, he was the son of Frank A. Zuppio of Peabody and the late Irene (MacDonald) Zuppio. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1966. He was a member of the Mass National Guard and prior to his retiring the past January, he was a 33-year member of the Peabody Firefighters. He also was a member of the Union, local 925 and served a term on the Executive Board. He had great fellowship with his brotherhood firefighters and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by a son, Peabody firefighter, Anthony Zuppio of Danvers, a daughter, Angela Zuppio and her fiancée Thomas Derosier, both of Methuen; a brother, Frank J. Zuppio of Salem; a sister, Christine Zuppio of Peabody; 2 nieces and cousins His funeral service will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 4 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of Sympathy can be sent to Peabody Firefighters Honor Guard Assn., P.O. Box 232, Peabody, Ma. 01960.
