Obituary of Ioanna V Frangias

Ioanna V. Frangias, 85 of Lynn, died early Monday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Vasilios Frangias with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Kavasila Ilias, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Stefanos and Dionisia Stefanopoulos. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and children, and has lived in Lynn for the past 37 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Evangelos and his wife Panagiota Frangias of Peabody, Maria and her husband Nick Koufos of Arlington, Stefanos and his wife Haritomeni Frangias of Peabody, Dionisia Frangias of Burlington, and Eftihios Frangias of Lynn; her siblings, Demetra Poulopoulos of Lynn, Chrisanthe Coufos of Peabody, and Vasilios Stefanopoulos of Lynn. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Joanna Koufos, Joanna Frangias, Marianna Frangias, Vasilios Frangias, Chrisovalantis Frangias, Dennis Koufos, Vasili Frangias, and Joanne Frangias. She was predeceased by her brother Nikos Stefanopoulos. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Donations in Ioanna’s memory may be made to the Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5-7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960.
