Obituary of Marjorie "Marge A. (O'Conner) (Kogut) McVann

Marjorie A. (O’Conner) (Kogut) McVann PEABODY – Marjorie A. (O’Conner) (Kogut) McVann, 86, beloved wife of the late Robert McVann, died peacefully late Sunday evening March 6, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Foster) O’Conner. She grew up in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School. She had been a member of the Sacred Heart Church Parish in Lynn, and for many years was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of Peabody. Mrs. McVann was a homemaker while nurturing her daughters. She later was a health care worker—caregiver in homes, and worked in several retail positions at the North Shore Mall in Peabody, mostly at Almy’s. She enjoyed living a quiet life at home, and tending to her garden. Family was very important for her. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Elliott of Peabody and Brenda Kogut of PA; three grandchildren, Tarra Sewell of Medford, Jesse Elliott of Winthrop, and Nickole Elliott of Nashua, NH; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Summer Carlson. She was preceded in death by her first husband Stanley Kogut then her second husband Robert McVann, and a twin brother William O’Conner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 12 Noon to 1 PM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
