Obituary of Irene Marie Ortins

Irene Marie Ortins, 87, of Peabody, died Sunday Evening at Care One at Peabody following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Bemvinda (Bettencourt) Ortins. She was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1946. Irene was employed in the leather industry for many years and her last years were spent at A.C Lawrence before retiring many years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by brothers, Alden Ortins of Danvers and Joseph Ortins of Peabody and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Ortins and Leibia De Costa. Following cremation, her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:30 AM. Burial services will be private.
