Obituary of Shayne M. Loizides

Shayne M. Loizides, 47 PEABODY – Shayne M. Loizides, 47, a lifetime Peabody resident, died unexpectedly after a sudden illness at his home on Thursday March 24, 2016. Born in Lynn, he was the son of Janet (Estey) Sutcliffe & her husband Dr. Brian Sutcliffe of Peabody and Chris Loizides & his wife of Falmouth. He grew up there and graduated Peabody High School, Class of 1987. He then continued his education in agriculture and landscape design at the University of Massachusetts—Stockbridge. A creative entrepreneur, Mr. Loizides owned and operated his business SL Landscape & Design for several years. Shayne enjoyed sports and was an athletic person. He was on the Swim team at Peabody High School where he competed in state championships, and track and field. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping at Moosehead Lake in Maine, fireworks, and coaching his children, of which he was so very proud, in various sports including North Shore Flag Football and Peabody Basketball Association. Larger than life, Shayne had a contagious laugh and a smile that lit up the room. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son and daughter, Cameron Shayne Loizides and Cassandra Lee Loizides both of Peabody; his mother Janet Sutcliffe & her husband of Peabody and his father Chris Loizides & his wife of Falmouth; his endearing friend Pam Vecchio of Peabody; two brothers, Benjamin Loizides & his wife and Branden Loizides & his fiancée all of Peabody; an aunt Sharyn Kelly of Burr Ridge, IL; a niece Reagan, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins, and his beloved dog Chloe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Bertha Estey and Stephen and Bernadine Loizides. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 11 AM in the funeral home followed by cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the Cassandra and Cameron Loizides Memorial Fund, c/o Eastern Bank, 246 Border St., East Boston, MA 02128.
