Obituary of James J Dyko

James J Dyko, 84 of Peabody and formerly of Saugus and Somerville, died Tuesday morning at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a lengthy illness. He was the devoted husband of Diane (Itrato) Dyko with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage. Born in the West End of Boston, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Kiriako) Dyko. He was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston English High School. After high school, James enlisted with the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following the war, James embarked on a 30 year career working for Eastern Airlines as a ramp supervisor before retiring many years ago. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Lorraine and her husband Kenneth Huber of Peabody, Joseph O’Brien of Florida, Diana Dyko of Peabody, his sister, Lori Lukas of Las Vegas, Nevada and by his two loving grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan Huber. Following cremation, his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 PM noon at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will take place in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
