Obituary of Maynard R Winstead

Maynard R Winstead, 78, of Peabody and formerly of Roxboro, North Carolina, died early Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Geneva (Russell) Winstead with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage. Born in Roxboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late John Sim and Armelia (Stewart) Winstead. He was raised and educated in Roxboro and later received his BS degree for St. Paul’s College in Virginia. Maynard was employed for over 30 years as a chemist with General Electric in Chelsea before retiring many years ago. Besides his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by his daughter Sheri Bowles of Peabody and by his three granddaughters, Cherice, Cierra, and Cydni Bowles, all of Peabody. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held later this week in Roxboro, North Carolina at the Cunningham-Nelson Funeral Home in Roxboro, NC.
