Obituary of Vera M. (Ilinitch) Thacher

Vera Thacher PEABODY Vera (Ilinitch) Thacher, 94, beloved wife of the late Arthur Thacher, died Wednesday March 15th at the North Shore Medical Center-Union Hospital in Lynn. Born in Talsi, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Joseph and Caroline (Friedenberg) Ilinitch. She emigrated to the United States, settling in Peabody where she lived for most of her life. She was employed with Sylvania in Danvers for several years until her retirement. Mrs. Thacher was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Peabody. She is survived by: three daughters, Nancy Thacher of Peabody, Mrs. Elsie Street of Ohio, and Mrs. Grace Cherwek of Lynnfield; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bette Jones of Iowa; two brothers, Walter J. Ilinitch of NJ and Timothy T. Ilinitch of Templeton, MA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry W. Ilinitch. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Calvary Baptist Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
