Obituary of Margaret M. (Lane) Tardiff

Margaret “Peggy” M. (Lane) Tardiff PEABODY – Margaret “Peggy” M. (Lane) Tardiff, 70, beloved wife of the late Richard B. Tardiff, died peacefully on Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Rosewood Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary T. (Carty) Lane. She attended St. John’s Elementary School, graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Tardiff worked a short time at the Jordan Marsh Bakery at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody, and had a 28 year career with GTE-Osram Sylvania in payroll administration before taking an early retirement. Peggy enjoyed reading, short day trips, and helping out others with their housework. She was most fond of her nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother and his wife, John & Anita Lane of Wakefield, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Eleanor Zigalo and Marie Robinson. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday April 12, 2016 to a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Mass General Cancer Center, Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923.
