Obituary of Rocco J. Conte

Rocco J. Conte, 90 PEABODY – Rocco J. Conte, 90, beloved husband of Ann (Panniello) Conte, died peacefully on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at the Care One Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Angelina (DeLuca) Conte. He grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. He later attended Boston University where he studied Aviation Mechanics. He lived in Peabody for over 56 years. Mr. Conte was a veteran of two wars, World War II and the Korean War with service in the United States Navy. He worked as an Aviation Mechanic with Northeast Airlines which was subsequently Delta Airlines for over 30 years. Rocco was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Post 1011 in Peabody. He enjoyed being outside in nature, ice fishing in Winter and fishing at various places. He liked visiting Walden Pond, riding motorcycle, exploring with a metal detector, and was a skilled photographer. He also enjoyed watching Western shows on television. He is survived by his wife Ann (Panniello) Conte of Peabody, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage; a son Nicholas Conte of Peabody, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was brother of the late Joseph Conte, Anoinette Bostick, and Josephine Davis. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 9:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
