Obituary of Cecilia DeJesus Espinola

Cecilia DeJesus (Ramos) Espinola, 57, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted husband of Manuel Espinola with whom she shared over 33 years of marriage. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of Valentina (Espinola) Ramos of Gloucester and the late Nectario Ramos. She was raised and educated in Portugal before immigrating to the United States. She has been a resident of Peabody for the past 40 years. She worked as an assembler for GTE Sylvania in Danvers as well as the former Signal Company in Beverly as a spot welder. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her two granddaughters. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Christina Espinola of Peabody; a sister, Maria Lobao of Merced, Cal., an uncle, Edmundo Espinola of Peabody; 2 grandchildren, Jamie and Chloe Espinola, both of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
