Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" Foley

Lawrence A. Foley, 85 West Springfield – Lawrence A. "Larry" Foley, 85, beloved husband of the late Mary (Torigian) Foley, died Monday April 25, 2016 in Baystate Medical Center. The son of the late John E. Foley and Ida Tremblay Foley, Larry was born and raised in Salem, and lived in Peabody most of his life before moving to Westfield in 2014. He proudly served with the United States Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict. A graduate of Northeastern University, he enjoyed a career in engineering. Before retiring he was an engineer for Raytheon Corporation and worked on many projects that he took pride in, including the Mars Viking Lander Project and Sidewinder Missile Navigation. He was a talented man, loved fishing and puttering around his home. His wife of 62 years Mary (Torigian) Foley died in 2014. In addition he was pre-deceased by his brother John Foley. He leaves a son Brian M. Foley and his wife Carol of Billerica; two daughters Roberta (Bobbie) Pitkin of West Springfield and Kathleen Foley-Power of West Palm Beach, FL.; two grandchildren Krystle Thomsen and Brian M. Foley II and three great grandchildren Ava, Austin and Brady. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Claire Foley, Jacqueline Torigian and Carolyn Torigian. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Monday May 2, 2016 from 10 – 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur 82 Lynn St. Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Urn burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
