Obituary of Margaret T Celona

Margaret T Celona, 104, of Peabody died Wednesday morning at the Abbott House in Lynn following a brief illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Maria (Arena) Celona. She was raised and educated in Peabody. Margaret was employed for over 47 years at GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave in Salem as a supervisor. Margaret was a long time and devoted parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody. She enjoyed Line Dancing and was an avid fan of all of Boston’s professional sports teams. She also was a seamstress She was the loving and devoted aunt to her nephew Peter Celona and his wife Beth of Melrose, and her niece Marie Celona and her long term partner Frank Flanagan of Green Brook, NJ, and by her beloved great niece and nephew Brett and Grace Celona of Melrose. She was predeceased by her siblings, Salvatore, Frank, Peter, and Sara Celona. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
