Obituary of Katherine A (Danish) Bulyga

Katherine A. (Danish) Bulyga, 94, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died early Sunday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Nicholas Bulyga with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of Fred and Annie (Melanski) Danish. She was raised and educated in Peabody and upon marrying her husband, moved to Salem where she lived for 13 years. She has spent the last 52 years living in Peabody. Katherine was employed as an assembler for Sylvania in Salem for 18 years and also was employed part time at the wrap desk at Filene’s for 10 years. She was employed by Varian in Beverly for over 14 years before retiring. Katherine enjoyed cooking and baking, and brought this joy to others by teaching cake decoration for many years. Her favorite activity was spending time with family and later her grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors and successes. She will be dearly missed by all. Besides her loving husband of 64 years, Katherine is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Hurley of Peabody, her two grandsons, Michael and David Hurley and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Alexander, Peter, Nicholas, Harry, Henry, and John Danish, and Mary Kulakowski and Lucy Rubino. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
