Obituary of Margot Claire (Falkenstein) Cleary
Margot Claire (Falkenstein) Cleary, 84, of Peabody died Saturday evening with her children by her side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Cleary. She was born in Hanover, Germany, the daughter of the late Karl and Lucie (Falkenstein) Falkenstein and moved with her family to Trinidad in 1939. She had resided in Peabody for several years and had been an accountant for Allied Stores at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody for many years. She had also been employed at Putnam Pantry Candies in Danvers and following her retirement at Allied Stores was a bookkeeper at the Salem Country Club and her daughter's wireless company.
Margot loved to travel and for the past 20 years took many trips and cruises all over the world. Her favorite stops were in Venice, Italy and the Caribbean Islands. Margot had a flair for colorful fashion and enjoyed wearing her brightly colored wardrobe. One of her passions was collecting art from her many travels.
She is survive by her children, Steven and his wife Diane Kahn of Peabody, Brian and his wife Maria Cleary of Wilmington, Ma,, Helena Speicher and her husband Charles of Charlotte N.C. and formerly of Middleton MA; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Rose Falkenstein of Satellite Beach, Florida, her two sisters, Rene Cameron of Salem, NH and Lisa Latinik of Raleigh/Durham, NC, seven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Service will be held on Wednesday at 09:30 AM at the Funeral Home with Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
